Mumbai marathon 2006: Complete results

Finally, I was able to locate the complete results for the Mumbai Marathon 2006. The results can be seen at the Mika timing website.

It was interesting to note that out of the 3000 odd runners, there were just 177 and 26 finishers in the Mens and Womens categories within the time limit of 5 hours. That accounts for just 6.76% of the runners! Clearly, the organizers need to do a lot more to ensure that this figure goes up, from having early starting times, to extending the time for which timings are recorded, beyond the mandated 5 hours.

Some stats from the results:

Every runner was given an overall standing, and a age-group standing, age groups being classified as open, 30, 35, 40, etc. The only Indians who won their age groups were as follows:

Subhash Chandra Khatri : M50 yrs (3:18:55, overall 65)

Sunita Godara : W45 yrs (4:02:01, overall 22)

Incidentally, both of them were part of the running contingent from Delhi.
