With the early 2008 running season well and truly over, it is time for me to think again and plan on what I want to do in the second half of the year and beyond. With the plethora of events coming up all around India and beyond, this is a tough ask. And I also have to answer the question of what I want to do. Following plans come to my mind:
1. Do 3 Half-marathons (Delhi, Hyderabad Mumbai) and set a PR in each one of them. Maybe from 1:55 in the first one to a sub-1:50 in the last one.
2. OR, do a couple of halfs (Delhi, Hyderabad), and then go for a full later in the year (Mumbai, Dubai).
3. OR, just focus on the Bangalore ultra 78K, and do anything in between without any specific targets.
At the moment, I am more inclined towards the second one. I have ordered the book titled:
Runner’s World Run Less, Run Faster
which is about a revolutionary Furman Institute of Running and Scientific Training (FIRST) program which advocates 3 quality runs a week and 2 cross training sessions. Maybe this will help me set my goals better.
